

Men’s Wrestling: Scholarship & Team Data by Division
In NCAA Division I, there are 62 teams with a total of 1,275 athletes, averaging 20.6 players per team. Beginning in 2025–26, rosters will be capped at 20. The current scholarship limit is 12, which will increase to 20, awarded on an equivalency basis.
In NCAA Division II, there are 5 teams with 121 athletes, averaging 24.2 players per team. There is no roster cap, and the scholarship limit is 6, which remains the same in 2025–26, under the equivalency model.
In NCAA Division III, there are 18 teams with 389 athletes, averaging 21.6 players per team. This division does not offer athletic scholarships and has no roster restrictions.
